Floating along

This is how I spent my last weekend....

and I hadn't quite recovered all week. Hence lack in any creative (or any) posts.

We spent last weekend camping in Eastern, WA. Washington is funny like that, drive 3 hours east and add 10-20 degrees on the thermostat!
That sun got to my brain this past weekend and fried it, not complaining, I needed those happy sun vibes!

My favorite place in the world

I wanted to do a quick recap of the amazing time Eddie & I had when we were home 2 weeks ago, geesh how time flies.

10 a.m. landing @ Logan! I was a GIDDY girl seeing this out my window!

We celebrated a pre July 4th party on the 3rd in Marshfield, where my MOH Collette lives. I couldn't wait to see her place, she has the most amazing beach house!

We hung out and grilled and drank all afternoon then watched the fireworks at night. The fireworks in Marshefield are incredible! Miles and miles of people lighting them along the beach.

..right along this beach... you can't beat this view!

On July 4th Eddie's parents hosted a big cook out! So many of our friends came out for it!
We ate, drank and boated on their pond!

We hit a Red Sox game with Eddie's parents!

We dined at one of our favorite restaurants Sweet Basil, not only is the food always amazing but it's also BYOB, can't beat that!

And went out with all our families on our last night at Patriot Place, we LOVE Patriot Place!

We had the best time in Massachusetts, already counting down the days until we are on the east coast again!

Something Old, something New, something Borrowed something Blue!

check, check, check check!

My something Old is a baby Bonnet that was given to me when I was born. It was also meant for me to convert into a hanky on my wedding day. I am SO glad my mom held onto this for me! You can find something similar here. I think I might get our wedding date and initials embroidered on it and use it to wrap around my bouquet.

For my something New, well that was easy, that will be my gown!

My something Borrowed is my cousin's cathedral veil. I read that you are suppose to borrow from a happily married woman so she can also lend the bride some of her own marital happiness to carry into the new marriage. My cousin is very happily married and has the 3 cutest kids on the planet.  So I really nailed that one down. I was THRILLED when she offered me her veil to borrow!

For something Blue I just HAD to splurge when I came across the Florrie Mitton etsy shop!

 I ordered this garter

and asked that she add the horseshoe charm that's on this one to it.

On a side note, my photographer just finished editing our engagement photos. I LOVE THEM and can't wait to share!

The road to finding THE dress.

On July 4th I had a conversation with some of my engaged and married ladies about finding the dress. The dress that I will wear on one of the most important days of my life!

I was told when you stepped into the dress, you'd know!

3 days later when I stepped into my dress I KNEW. I am in love with it and I can't stop looking at the pictures I have in it.. ha yah so what if I downloaded a pic to my iphone so when I'm stuck in traffic or if I'm having a bad day at work I can look at myself in it and smile, don't judge!

Now I can show you the dresses that at one point I thought could be the ones, there were quite a few! Thankfully I waited! :)

I think this one was a Pronovias.

I tried this dress on 3 times and I really wanted it to be the one
Blue by Enozoani - Casablanca

another Blue by Enzoani - Dabra

This dress was SO fun, just not me.

I am SOO excited I decided on THE dress. For 1. because I LOVE it and for 2. I became so sick of trying on dresses!

Happy Birthday to my fiance!

Yesterday we celebrated my handsome fiance's 29th birthday!

His last birthday in his 20's and his last as a "single" man!

..and what kind of cake does any 29 year old man ask for..

A Funfetti cake!!! Complete with Funfetti frosting!

I mean really, who could ever get tired of this Pillsbury cake in a box?!

he didn't even mind that it came out lopsided...

and that I attempted to be a little more healthy and use egg whites!

Happy Birthday to my love and best friend!

... but now I'm stuck with 3/4th's of this cake in my fridge while Eddie's away traveling in Oregon... welpp cake it is for dinner for the rest of the week!!!

The wedding to-do list is shrinking!

We just arrived back in Seattle after an amazing trip home to Boston. Sad it went by SOO fast!

I am impressed with the amount of things we got accomplished!

1. Booked Florist
This was EASY, I knew I wanted to ask my neighbor who owns a florist shop. While I was home she brought me over some lovely flowers from her garden, I took this opportunity to ask her on the spot!

2. Engagement Pics/ meeting our photog
Katie Hall met us at a park near our house in Mass. I instantly felt comfortable in her hands! I cant wait to see how the pictures came out and I can't wait even more to see how our wedding pics come out with her amazing talent!

3. Met the Priest/ finally saw the church
Father Tom, who is marrying us is actually an old friend of Eddie's uncle. He really put us at ease and gave us great instructions on exactly how the day and days leading up the ceremony will play out. Not to mention he had such a great personality I am ecstatic for him to marry us.
We also were able to FINALLY see the church, I had only seen pictures via online stalking.

4. Blocked off rooms at the hotels
The Holiday Inn actually wouldn't let us "block" off rooms its basically on a first come first serve basis at a discounted wedding rate. I will have to make sure to tell guests to book asap!

5. Decided on the Rehearsal dinner spot
We had lunch out in the beer garden at the Scarlet Oak Tavern and it was a done deal! I knew it was love at first sight when the GM greeted us with champagne upon arrival!

6. Booked the wedding day transportation
Kenny's Coach was an instant yes as well. Kenny met us to take a peek at the Trolley's he had, he was such a sweet guy. We had 2 Trolley's to choose from, we opt'd for the one that was a little more open.

7. BOUGHT MY WEDDING DRESS
A beautiful Jim Hjelm creation

WOOHOO. Writing it all out makes me feel even more accomplished and I love seeing my "before we do we must" list dwindle down!
